A For The Interested reader emailed me asking for career advice.
Here’s what he said:
I’m in marketing, stuck in a career move situation where the salary would be an increase, the opportunity is perfect, but the cost of health benefits make the salary jump a wash.
I remember a month or so ago seeing a newsletter from you encouraging to make a jump when it’s right, regardless of salary, but I couldn’t find that issue in my inbox.
Do you have any articles or anything you can link to that’ll help push me over the edge?
I sent him some stuff to read, but ended my response to him by saying this:
You’re just looking for something to “push you over the edge, you’ve already made your decision.
I thought I’d share it with you because I think it’s a common situation.
If you’re looking for somebody to give you permission, an excuse, or a nudge to do something you already know what you want to do.
So go do it.
